Dir. Mohamed Amin Benamraoui, Morocco, GFI grant 2013. In a gossip-prone Moroccan village in the summer of 1975, an abandoned boy develops a life-changing bond with Carmen, the Spanish woman working at the local cinema.

"1975. Ten-year-old Amar lives in a village in northern Morocco with his violent uncle, waiting for the unlikely return of his mother who has left for Belgium. He finds a friend in Carmen, his neighbour, who is a Spanish exile and who works as an usher at the village cinema. Carmen helps him discover a world previously unknown to him.

Adios Carmen was the recipient of the Muhr Arab Special Mention at the 2013 Dubai International Film Festival."
